APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
There were no apologies for absence received from Members of the Board.
2.
EXCLUSION OF THE PUBLIC AND PRESS
RESOLVED: That the public and press be excluded from the meeting before discussion takes place on the following item of business to be considered on the grounds that, if the public and press were present during the transaction of such business, there would be a disclosure to them of exempt information as described in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972, as amended.

HACKNEY CARRIAGE AND PRIVATE HIRE LICENSING
The Assistant Chief Executive, Legal and Governance, submitted details in respect of four cases relating to Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing. All the applicants attend the meeting; the applicants in respect of Case Nos. 43/06, 44/06 and 45/06 addressed the Board and the applicants in respect of Case Nos. 44/06 and 45/06 were accompanied by a representative.
RESOLVED: That the case now submitted be determined as follows:-

In view of the conviction now reported, grant for a period of 15 months and a warning be given to the applicant as regards his future conduct.

Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver's Licence
In view of the convictions now reported, grant for a period of six months and a warning be given to the applicant as regards his future conduct
45/06
Private Hire Vehicle Licence
(a) Authority be given for the Assistant Chief Executive, Legal and Governance to grant the Private Hire Vehicle Licence for a period of 12 months, subject to the applicant first producing (i) the completed transfer document from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) in respect of the vehicle, (ii) the service history in respect of the vehicle and (iii) a dated bill of sale/receipt in respect of the vehicle; and
(b) the vehicle be required to have three tests in the first year and thereafter to revert to the normal testing regime.
