The report seeks agreement for the site of the former Wisewood School caretaker house to be declared surplus as it is no longer required by the portfolio for the delivery of services.
Decision:
That the vacant former Wisewood School caretaker house at 2 Rural Lane, be declared surplus to requirements of the people portfolio.
Reasons for the decision:
The house is no longer required for the original purpose of housing a caretaker or by the portfolio for the delivery of people services.
Alternative options considered:
Portfolio services have been consulted on identifying alternative use for the house, none have been identified. Continuing to leave the building vacant will mean the Council having to commit funding on a regular basis for vacant property maintenance.
