To (a) approve the implementation of measures to support active travel and social distancing on the highway, in line with government guidance, and as outlined in the report provided to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Incident Management Group and (b) delegate operational decision making to the Director of City Growth regarding the implementation of further measures.

There is a need to implement measures to support active travel and social distancing on the highway in line with government guidance.  An Emergency Transport Action Plan in Response to Covid-19 has been produced which outlines actions in 2 phases. Phase 1 requires £60k funding to make immediate changes, with further proposals to be investigated for phase 2. Funding from government is to be released to the Local Authority in the coming weeks to support this type of activity.  The report provided to IMG sets out actions identified for Phase 1 (to begin now).
