The Local Authority is responsible for setting admission arrangements for all Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools. It must “Determine” and publish its admission arrangements every year. There is a requirement to consult on the arrangements once every seven years unless there are significant changes proposed.
There are proposed changes to catchment area arrangements at King Edward VII School for 2021/22 and therefore the Authority has taken the opportunity to consult on its full Admission Arrangements. Admission Arrangements must be determined by 28 February 2020 at the latest.

The recommendation to approve the proposed admission arrangements for 2021/22 will ensure that the Authority carries out its statutory duty to consult and determine its admission arrangements for the 2021/22 academic year, including:-
The Admissions Review was a City wide consultation which asked whether the current admission arrangements were still supported and were still fit for purpose. There continues to be a high level of support for the current arrangements and, apart from the minor amendments to existing catchment areas, there have not been any alternative arrangements considered.
