The Cabinet Highways Committee discusses and
takes decisions on significant or sensitive highways matters under
the Highways Act 1980 and the Road Traffic Regulation Act
1984. These include the approval of Traffic Regulation
Orders, the designation of controlled parking zones and approval of
major transport scheme designs.
Most
highway decisions are now taken at the
Highway Cabinet Member Decision Sessions.
