4.1

The Chief Licensing Officer submitted details in respect of two cases relating to hackney carriage and private hire licensing.

 

 

4.2

The applicant in Case No. 64/20 attended the hearing with a representative and they both addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.3

The licence holder in Case No. 58/20 did not attend the hearing and his case was considered in his absence.

Renewal of a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence

(a) Grant the licence for the term of three years as applied for and (b) the applicant be issued with a warning and a request that all future correspondence he has with the Licensing Service be carried out by email or letter.

Review of a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence

Immediately revoke the licence under Section 61 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provision) Act 1976, as amended by Section 52 of the Road Safety Act 2006, as the Sub-Committee did not consider the licence holder to be a fit and proper person, in view of the offences and convictions now reported and the failure to inform the Licensing Service of those convictions.
