Minutes:

4.1

The Chief Licensing Officer submitted details in respect of four cases relating to hackney carriage and private hire licensing.

 

 

4.2

The applicant in Case No.30/24 attended the hearing and addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.3

The applicant in Case No.31/24 attended the hearing and addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.4

The applicant in Case No.32/24 attended the hearing and addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.5

The applicant in Case No.33/24 attended the hearing with a representative, and they both addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.6

RESOLVED: That, after consideration of the information contained in the case papers, and the information now reported and, where relevant, circulated either prior to the meeting, but after publication of the agenda, or at the meeting, the cases now submitted be determined as follows:-

Application to be exempted from certain conditions of a Private Hire Vehicle Licence

Grant the exemption, as requested, on the grounds that the applicant has provided sufficient evidence to convince the Sub-Committee that there are exceptional reasons to deviate from the current policy on private hire vehicle signage.

Application for a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence

Grant a licence for the term of 12 months, as requested, on the grounds that the Sub-Committee considers the applicant to be a fit and proper person to hold a licence.

Application for a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence

(a) Grant a licence for the term of 12 months, as requested, on the grounds that the Sub-Committee considers the applicant to be a fit and proper person to hold a licence; and (b) the applicant be issued with a Formal Written Warning with regard to his future conduct, to remain live for the term of the licence.

Application for a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence

(a) Grant a licence for the term of three years, as requested, on the grounds that the Sub-Committee considers the applicant to be a fit and proper person to hold a licence; (b) the applicant be required to undertake Sheffield City Council’s ‘Knowledge Test’,  ‘Safeguarding Training’ and Driving Test; and (c) the applicant be issued with a Formal Written Warning with regard to his future conduct, to remain live for the term of the licence, stating that, should there be any further instances of speeding or vehicle defects, the licence would be referred back to the Sub-Committee.
