The Cabinet comprises the Leader and 8 Cabinet Members and discusses and takes decisions on the most significant issues facing the City Council. These include issues about the direction of the Council, its policies and strategies, as well as city-wide decisions and those which affect more than one Council service.
The Cabinet Member Portfolios outline their individual areas of responsibility.
Meetings of the Cabinet are open to the public.
There is an opportunity for members of the public to ask the Cabinet Members questions and submit petitions under the agenda item 'Public Questions and Petitions'. You must be present at the meeting to ask your question, unless you request we make a reasonable adjustment.
If you wish to submit a petition or ask a question at a meeting of the Committee please contact Simon Hughes in Democratic Services either in advance of the meeting or before the meeting starts (email email@example.com or telephone 0114 273 4014).
Recording is allowed at Cabinet meetings under the direction of the Chair of the meeting. The protocol on audio/visual recording and photography provides further information.
