The area surrounding Cambridge street is home to many of Sheffield's finest independent retail outlets and food stores. The council is proposing to demolish the buildings which will leave most of these businesses without a home and an uncertain future.
We are proposing that the council pauses to consider the views of the businesses in this area, as well as the people of Sheffield, who have had little consultation in the matter. The buildings in the area are full of character and represent Sheffield's heritage as a northern town driven by an entrepreneurial spirit. We do not believe that these buildings are in need of demolition and instead believe in retaining the character of the area and investing in a renovation that is in keeping with this entrepreneurial spirit.
