- poor consultation process - limited contact with residents

- impact on everyday lives of residents on Broughton Road:
increase in parking, traffic, pollution, anti-social behaviour,
intrusive lighting, litter (rats).
- loss of green space for multi- activity use, increase in flooding
- moving water elsewhere, impact on wildlife, damaging the aspect
of the park with concrete, shipping containers, lighting masts
etc.
- ongoing funding issues to maintain security & upkeep -
graffiti, vandalism, litter.
- increase in cycling within the park not accounted for in planning
- not enough space, no cycling lanes, impact on safety and choices
of other park users.
- many disused industrial sites along the other side of Penistone
Road would be far more suitable locations, particularly given the
planning ideas to renovate the ski village site and riverwalk
connections etc.
