New footpath along Greenhill Parkway

We the undersigned petition the council to create a new footpath along Greenhill Parkway. It needs to go from the first gennel at the back of James Andrew Crescent, to the roundabout at the junction where Greenhill Parkway meets Reney Road and Gervase Road, alongside the playing field of Greenhill Primary School.

The forthcoming closure of the Old School Medical Practice will mean that many patients will transfer to the Avenue Medical Practice, and the quickest route there for many people will be directly along Greenhill Parkway. This route would also be much more convenient than Greenhill Main Road, due to it being flat and straight, making it easier for older people and those with children and/or prams, wheelchairs, etc. These people would greatly benefit from the area being paved, as it is very difficult to push a pram or wheelchair through the muddy (and often tall) grass at the moment.

A path along the Parkway would link to the request made by Greenhill library for a crossing by St. Peter's Church, to encourage visitors from Lowedges and beyond.

Children and parents attending Greenhill School would also find it useful to be able to cross over onto the correct side of the road when convenient and to be able to reach their destination without walking through mud.
