The current Domestic and Sexual Abuse Strategy was published in May 2014. The intention was for it to be renewed in 2017. The action plan for the strategy (24 actions) was agreed by the Domestic and Sexual Abuse Strategy Board to be fully implemented by March 2017.
A Domestic and Sexual Abuse needs assessment has recently been published following extensive information gathering and consultation.
It is intended that the findings of the needs assessment will inform the themes of the new strategy.
The Cabinet Member and the People Services Portfolio Leadership Team have agreed that a new strategy is required to give direction to a range of new developments and opportunities re addressing domestic and sexual abuse.
