Purpose:
A contract extension to the ‘City-Wide Services for Carers’ contract. The contract extension would start on 1 January 2020 and end on 31 December 2021 and be worth £1,400,000.
Decision:
To extend the City-Wide Services for Carers Contract for 24 months.
Reasons for the decision:
Following a review of the “continued need”, Service Provider performance and price implications, the Council’s Commissioning, Inclusion and Learning Service recommends that the Contract is extended, as permitted under section 3.3 of the Contract. Further rationale is provided in section 6 of the report accompanying this decision.
Alternative options considered:
The alternative options are outlined in section 5 of the accompanying report, and relate to (a) commissioning a new service, (b) extending the Contract for one year, and (c) insourcing carer support.
