An apology for absence was received from Councillor Paul Wood.

2.1

The Lord Mayor (Councillor Jayne Dunn) sought nominations for the positions of Chair and Deputy Chair of the Committee for the Municipal Year 2024-25.

2.2

It was moved by Councillor Tony Downing and seconded by Councillor Matthew Dwyer, that Councillor Karen McGowan be appointed to serve as Chair.

2.3

It was then moved by Councillor Mick Rooney and seconded by Councillor Tony Downing, that Councillor Alison Norris be appointed to serve as Deputy Chair.

Whereupon, it was moved by Councillor Kurtis Crossland and seconded by Councillor Ann Woolhouse, that Councillor Gail Smith be appointed to serve as Chair and Councillor Ian Horner be appointed to serve as Deputy Chair.

2.5

On being put to the vote, conducted by a show of hands, the nomination of Councillors McGowan and Norris received 5 votes, and the nomination of Councillors Smith and Horner received 6 votes.  It was therefore:-

RESOLVED: That Councillor Gail Smith be appointed Chair and Councillor Ian Horner be appointed Deputy Chair of the South East Local Area Committee for the Municipal Year 2024/25.

3.1

RESOLVED: That the meetings of the Committee be held at least four times per year, on dates and times to be determined by the Chair, in accordance with the schedule of Council and Committee meetings for the Municipal Year 2024-25, approved at the annual meeting of the Council.
