Minutes:

4.1

The Chief Licensing Officer submitted details in respect of two cases relating to hackney carriage and private hire licensing.

 

 

4.2

The licence holder in Case No. 24/15 attended the hearing with his brother and they both addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.3

The applicant in Case No. 26/15 attended the hearing with her partner and they both addressed the Sub-Committee.  The Sub-Committee also considered representations from an officer from the Council’s Transport and Facilities Management Service.

 

 

4.4

Review of a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence

The licence holder be given a written warning as to his future conduct, relating specifically to his attitude towards Council officers and the contravention of highway regulations, to remain on his licence for a period of 12 months.

Application to renew a Private Hire Operator’s Licence

(a) Grant a licence for the shorter term of six months in the light of the findings and subsequent action taken by the Council’s Transport and Facilities Management Service, and (b) an officer from the Licensing Section be requested to visit the business premises to undertake checks of the business’s office practices and, if any problems or issues are identified as a result of the visit, the licence be referred back to the Sub-Committee, or if any matters arise in connection with the operation of the business or management in general, the licence be referred back to the Sub-Committee.
