The Lord Mayor (Councillor Sioned-Mair Richards) sought nominations for the position of Leader of the Council for the Municipal Year 2022/23. |

Councillor Abdul Khayum nominated Councillor Terry Fox to serve as Leader of the Council. That nomination was seconded by Councillor Dianne Hurst. |

Councillor Joe Otten nominated Councillor Shaffaq Mohammed to serve as Leader of the Council. That nomination was seconded by Councillor Sue Alston. |

The nomination of Councillor Shaffaq Mohammed was put to the vote and was lost. The result of the vote, conducted by a show of hands, was For – 28 Members, Against – 51 Members, Abstained – 2 Members. |
