Minutes:

4.1

The Chief Licensing Officer submitted details in respect of three cases relating to hackney carriage and private hire licensing.

 

4.2

The applicant in Case No. 07/23 attended the hearing with two representatives and they all addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

4.3

The applicant in Case No. 08/23 attended the hearing and addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

4.4

The applicant in Case No.09/23 attended the hearing with two representatives and they all addressed the Sub-Committee.

RESOLVED: That, after consideration of the information contained in the case papers, and the information now reported and, where relevant, circulated either prior to the meeting, but after publication of the agenda, or at the meeting, the cases now submitted be determined as follows:-

Application for the renewal of a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver Licence

 

Refuse to grant a licence on the grounds that, in the light of the offences now reported, the Sub-Committee does not consider the applicant to be a fit and proper person to hold a licence.

Application to Extend a Private Hire Vehicle Licence

(a) Extend the licence until 4 June 2023, on the grounds that the applicant has provided sufficient evidence to convince the Sub-Committee that there are exceptional reasons to deviate from the current policy on the age limit of vehicles and (b) should the applicant provide evidence that he has applied for and been approved for financial support through the Council’s clean air fund, delegate officers power to further extend.
