Minutes:

4.1

The Chief Licensing Officer submitted details in respect of four cases relating to hackney carriage and private hire licensing.

 

 

4.2

The applicant in Case No.13/23 attended the hearing and addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.3

The applicant in Case No.19/23 attended the hearing and addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.4

The applicant in Case No. 20/23 attended the hearing with his partner, and they both addressed the Sub-Committee.

RESOLVED: That, after consideration of the information contained in the case papers, and the information now reported and, where relevant, circulated either prior to the meeting, but after publication of the agenda, or at the meeting, the cases now submitted be determined as follows:-

Application for a new Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence

Grant a licence for three years, as applied for, on the grounds that, in the light of the circumstances now reported, the Sub-Committee considers the applicant to be a fit and proper person to hold a licence.

Application to extend a Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licence

(a) Extend the licence until 4th June 2023, on the grounds that the applicant has provided sufficient evidence to convince the Sub-Committee that there are exceptional reasons to deviate from the current policy on the age limit of vehicles and (b) should the applicant provide evidence that he has applied, and been approved for, financial support through the Council’s clean air fund, the Chief Licensing Officer be able to grant further extension(s) of the licence.
