Minutes:

5.1

The Chief Licensing Officer submitted details in respect of four cases relating to hackney carriage and private hire licensing.

 

 

5.2

The applicant in Case No.54/23 attended the hearing and addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

5.3

The licence holder in Case No.15/23 attended the hearing with a representative, and they both addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

5.4

The applicant in Case No.55/23 attended the hearing with a representative, and they both addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

5.5

The applicant in Case No. 56/23 attended the hearing and addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

5.6

RESOLVED: That, after consideration of the information contained in the case papers, and the information now reported and, where relevant, circulated either prior to the meeting, but after publication of the agenda, or at the meeting, the cases now submitted be determined as follows:-

Application for Exemptions to a Private Hire Driver’s Licence

The licence holder be exempt from displaying any external door signage or a private hire vehicle licence plate, in the circumstances now reported, when undertaking any private hire work in the future.

Review of a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence

The licence holder be issued with a written warning as to his future conduct, to remain live for the term of the current licence, and should there be any further causes for concern, the licence be referred back to the Sub-Committee.

Application to renew a Private Hire Vehicle Licence

(a) Grant a licence for 12 months on the grounds that the applicant has provided sufficient evidence to convince the Sub-Committee that there are exceptional reasons to deviate from the current policy on the age limit of vehicles and (b) the Chief Licensing Officer be authorised to grant further licences until the vehicle reaches the age of 15 years old.

Application for exemptions to a Private Hire Driver’s Licence

The licence holder be exempt from displaying any private hire operator door signage, and a private hire licence plate, both internal and external, in the circumstances now reported.
