The Chief Licensing Officer submitted details in respect of three cases relating to hackney carriage and private hire licensing. |

The licence holder in Case No. 66/23 had informed the Licensing Service that he was not able to attend the meeting and requested that consideration of his application be deferred. |

The applicant in Case No. 74/23 attended the hearing and addressed the Sub-Committee. |

The applicant in Case No. 73.23 attended the hearing with a representative and they both addressed the Sub-Committee. |

(a) Grant a licence for the term of 12 months, as requested, on the grounds that the applicant has provided sufficient evidence to convince the Sub-Committee that there are exceptional reasons to deviate from the current policy on the age limit of vehicles; and (b) the applicant be required to arrange a compliance test before the licence is issued. |

Application for a new Private Hire and Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence |
(a) Grant a licence for the term of 12 months, as requested, on the grounds that the Sub-Committee considers the applicant to be a fit and proper person to hold the licence; (b) the applicant be required to undertake and pass Sheffield City Council’s Driving Test and Knowledge Test prior to the issue of the licence; and (c) the applicant be required to present the Licensing Service with evidence of having completed the Level 2 Certificate in the Introduction to the Role of the Professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver within 12 months, prior to any licence renewal. |
