The Chief Licensing Officer submitted details in
respect of four cases relating to hackney carriage and private hire
licensing.

and addressed the Sub-Committee.

applicant in Case No. 81/23 had withdrawn his application prior to
the hearing.

applicant in Case No. 84/23 had withdrawn his application prior to

The applicant in
Case No. 88/23 attended the hearing with a representative and they

has provided sufficient evidence to convince the Sub-Committee that
there are exceptional reasons to deviate from the current policy on
the age limit of vehicles.

(a) Extend the licence for 1 month, on the
grounds that the applicant has provided sufficient evidence to
convince the Sub-Committee that there are exceptional reasons to
deviate from the current policy on the age limit of vehicles, (b)
the Chief Licensing Officer be authorised to further extend the licence for up to 3 months, should the applicant
apply for and be granted financial support through the Clean Air
Programme and (c) the applicant be
required to arrange a compliance test before the licence is issued.
