The Monitoring Officer submitted a report arising from an investigation in relation to a complaint concerning the conduct of a City Councillor (Case Reference Sheffield. SC.01.12).

5.2

The Investigating Officer’s report made a finding that the Councillor was not in breach of the Council’s Code of Conduct.

5.3

The Standards Committee were requested to consider the report and make one of the following findings:-

(a)         That it accepts the Monitoring Officer’s findings that there has not been a breach of the Code of Conduct; or

(b)         That the matter should be considered at a hearing of the Standards Committee to consider the allegation and make clear findings as to the facts on the matter and whether, in its opinion, a breach of the Code of Conduct has occurred.

5.4

Resolved: That (i) in respect of Case No. Sheffield.SC.01.12, the report’s findings that the Councillor was not in breach of the Council’s Code of Conduct, be accepted by the Committee;

(ii) whilst finding no breach of the Code, the Committee requested the Monitoring Officer to take the further action now specified; and

(iii) the Subject Member and the complainants are notified accordingly.
