Minutes:

4.1

The Chief Licensing Officer submitted details in respect of three cases relating to hackney carriage and private hire licensing.

 

 

4.2

The applicant in Case No.115/23 attended the hearing with a representative, and they both addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.3

The licence holder in Case No.125/23 attended the hearing with a representative, and they both addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.4

The applicant in Case No.126/23 attended the hearing with a representative, and they both addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.5

RESOLVED: That, after consideration of the information contained in the case papers, and the information now reported and, where relevant, circulated either prior to the meeting, but after publication of the agenda, or at the meeting, the cases now submitted be determined as follows:-

Application for the renewal of a Private Hire Vehicle Licence

Refuse to renew the licence on the grounds that the applicant has not provided sufficient evidence to convince the Sub-Committee that there are exceptional reasons to deviate from the current policy on the age limit of vehicles.

Review of a Private Hire and Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence

The licence holder to be issued with a warning as to his future conduct, to remain live on his licence for a period of 12 months, stating that, should there be any further causes for concern, the licence be referred back to the Sub-Committee.

Application for a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence

Grant a licence for the term of 12 months on the grounds that the Sub-Committee considers the applicant to be a fit and proper person to hold a licence.
