Minutes:

4.1

The Chief Licensing Officer submitted details in respect of four cases relating to hackney carriage and private hire licensing.

 

 

4.2

The applicant in Case No. 132/23 had informed the Licensing Service that he was not able to attend the meeting and requested that consideration of his application be deferred.

 

 

4.3

The applicant in Case No.133/23 attended the hearing with a representative, and they both addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.4

The applicant in Case No.134/23 attended the hearing and addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.5

The applicant in Case No.129/23 attended the hearing and addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.6

RESOLVED: That (a) after consideration of the information contained in the case papers, and the information now reported and, where relevant, circulated either prior to the meeting, but after publication of the agenda, or at the meeting, the cases now submitted be determined as follows:-

Application for a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence

Grant a licence for the term of 3 years, as applied for, on the grounds that the Sub-Committee considers the applicant to be a fit and proper person to hold a licence.

Application for the extension of a Private Hire Vehicle Licence

 

Extend the licence for 12 months, as applied for, on the grounds that the applicant has provided sufficient evidence to convince the Sub-Committee that there are exceptional reasons to deviate from the current policy on the age limit of vehicles.

Application to be exempted from certain conditions of a Private Hire Vehicle Licence

Grant the application under the following circumstances (a) the booking is made through 1st Choice 1st Class and (b) the journey either begins or ends outside of Sheffield.
