4.1

The Chief Licensing Officer submitted details in respect of three cases relating to hackney carriage and private hire licensing.

 

 

4.2

The applicant in Case No.142/23 attended the hearing and addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.3

The applicant in Case No.145/23 attended the hearing and addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.4

The applicant in Case No.144/23 did not attend the hearing and had not provided any reasons for his absence.

 

 

4.5

Application to be exempted from certain conditions of a Private Hire Vehicle Licence

Grant the exemption as requested subject to the condition that the vehicle will be used solely for pre-booked, ‘executive’ private vehicle hire business.

Application for a Private Hire Vehicle Licence

(a) Grant a licence for 12 months on the grounds that applicant has provided sufficient evidence to convince the Sub-Committee that there are exceptional reasons to deviate from the current policy on the age limit of vehicles; and (b) the applicant be required to provide a valid private hire insurance certificate for the vehicle before the licence is granted.

Defer consideration of the case, with the applicant being granted one further opportunity to attend a hearing to present his case.
