Minutes:

4.1

The Chief Licensing Officer submitted details in respect of five cases relating to hackney carriage and private hire licensing.

 

 

4.2

The applicant in Case No.01/24 attended the hearing and addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.3

The applicant in Case No.02/24 did not attend the hearing and had asked for his case to be deferred.

 

 

4.4

The licence holder in Case No.03/24 attended the hearing and addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.5

The licence holder in Case No.04/24 attended the hearing with a representative, and they both addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.6

The licence holder in Case No.09/24 did not attend the hearing and had not provided any reasons for his absence.

 

 

4.7

RESOLVED: That, after consideration of the information contained in the case papers, and the information now reported and, where relevant, circulated either prior to the meeting, but after publication of the agenda, or at the meeting, the cases now submitted be determined as follows:-

Application to be exempted from certain conditions of a Private Hire Vehicle Licence

Grant the exemption as requested on the grounds that the applicant has provided sufficient evidence to convince the Sub-Committee that there are exceptional reasons to deviate from the current policy on private hire vehicle signage.

 

 

 

 

 

02/24

Application to be exempted from certain conditions of a Private Hire Vehicle Licence

Defer consideration of the case, with the applicant being granted one further opportunity to attend a hearing to present his case.

 

 

 

 

 

03/24

Review of a Private Hire and Hackney Carriage Driver’s Licence

The licence holder be (a) issued with a warning as to his future conduct, to remain live on his licence for a period of three years, stating that, should there be any further causes for concern, the licence be referred back to the Sub-Committee; and (b) required to complete and pass the Certificate in Introduction to the Role of the Professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver, within three months of the date of this hearing.

The licence holder be issued with a warning as to his future conduct, to remain live on his licence for a period of two years, stating that, should there be any further causes for concern, the licence be referred back to the Sub-Committee.

Defer consideration of the case, with the licence holder being granted one further opportunity to attend a hearing to present his case.
