Report of the Director of Policy and Democratic Engagement

Minutes:

34.1.1

The Principal Democratic Services Officer submitted a report containing the Committee’s Work Programme which detailed all known, substantive agenda items for forthcoming meetings of the Committee to enable this Committee, other Committees, officers, partners and the public to plan their work with and for the Committee.

 

 

34.1.2

Members confirmed their intention to form a cross party task and finish group with members of the Transport, Regeneration and Climate Policy Committee to discuss obstructive parking in the city.  

 

 

34.1.3

Members requested a working group to look at the city centre and all the functions of the Waste and Street Scene remit that contribute to the city centre management, including the night time economy, to form a city centre operational strategy which will support the growth strategy.

 

 

34.2

RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY: That the Waste and Street Scene Policy Committee agrees:-

 

1.    The Committee’s work programme, as set out in Appendix 1, including any additions and amendments identified in Part 2;

2.    That consideration be given to any further issues to be explored by officers for inclusion in the next work programme report, for potential addition to the work programme; and

3.    That any referrals from Council (petition and resolutions) detailed in Section 2 of the report be noted and the proposed responses set out be agreed.

Reasons for Decision

To give the committee members an opportunity to consider the direction of the work programme, align it with their key priorities and create a manageable workload for the committee.
