'Optio Orange' Key Bus Route: Sheffield City Centre to Halfway Terminus

Decision:

8.1

The Executive Director, Place submitted a report setting out the proposals to improve the City Centre to Halfway key bus route used by the high frequency core bus service, route 120. These were part of the 2 year (2012/13 and 2013/14) ‘Better Buses Area Fund’ (BBAF) programme, funded by the Department for Transport.

 

 

8.2

RESOLVED: That the Committee:-

 

 

 

(a)

approves the development and implementation of the Key Bus Route proposals for 2012/13 and 2013/14, as set out in the report;

 

 

 

 

(b)

requests that the agreed Key Bus Route works be aligned as closely as possible with the Streets Ahead Programme; and

 

 

 

 

(c)

requests that a report on the bus gate at Duke Street be submitted to the December meeting of the Committee.

To seek authority to progress the proposals in 2012/13 and 2013/14, aligning as much as possible with the ‘Streets Ahead’ work in the area.

The Executive Director, Place submitted a report setting out the proposals to improve the City Centre to Halfway key bus route used by the high frequency core bus service, route 120. The Head of Transport, Traffic and Parking Services reported that any objections to individual schemes would be reported back to this Committee. He was aware of local Members concerns in relation to the bus gate on Duke Street and a separate report in respect of this would be submitted to the December meeting of the Committee.
