Minutes:

4.1

The Chief Licensing Officer submitted details in respect of three cases relating to Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing.

 

 

4.2

The applicant in Case No. 71/13 attended the hearing with a representative and they both addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.3

The licence holder in Case No. 72/13 attended the hearing with a representative and they both addressed the Sub-Committee.

 

 

4.4

The licence holder in Case No. 73/13 attended the hearing with a representative and they both addressed the Sub-Committee.

Application for a first Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence

Grant a licence for the normal term of nine months and, on the first renewal, authority be given to grant the applicant a 12 month licence and, on any subsequent renewal, an 18 month licence, subject to there being no further cause for concern.

Review of a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence

Agree that (a) no further action be taken; (b) the licence holder be requested to achieve the BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Introduction to the Role of the Professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver by the time of the renewal of his Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence on 15th December 2014 and, in the event of non-compliance with this request, any such renewal application be referred to the Sub-Committee; and (c) in the event of the licence holder achieving the aforementioned BTEC Level Certificate, authority be given to grant the licence holder an 18 month licence, subject to there being no further cause for concern.

Review of a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver’s Licence

Issue a written warning as to the licence holder’s future conduct, such warning to remain live during the currency of his present licence until its expiry on 15th June 2014.
