10/12/2021 - Acceptance of a Grant from Refugee Integration Service (RIS) and the Contractual Obligations ref: 2950    Recommendations Approved

To seek approval for the Council to accept adjusted Refugee Integration Service (RIS) grant funding through Migration Yorkshire, and the contractual requirements and grant conditions that come with the acceptance of this grant.

01/12/2021 - Early Implementation of National Living Wage for Care Staff ref: 2937    Recommendations Approved

The purpose of this report is to seek approval to accept and allocate monies from NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group to the value of £2.8m on a non-recurring basis. The purpose of this fund is to enable early adoption of the National Living Wage for Care Staff and recruitment and retention of Social Care Staff with commissioned health and care services.

That the Leader of the Council:

 

1)    Approves the Council accepting £2.8m of non-recurrent funding from the NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

 

2)    Approves allocation of the non-recurrent NHS funding for use to enable early adoption of the National Living Wage or other appropriate mechanisms for Care Sector Staff and as outlined in this report.

 

3)    Delegates authority to the Director of Finance and Commercial Services in consultation with the Director of Adult Health and Social Care, the Director of Legal and Governance, and the Executive Member for Health and Social Care to:

 

a.    accept any grant terms that are received from the CCG.

b.    establish a grant fund(s) from which grants will be allocated to provide the national living wage or other appropriate mechanisms.

c.     set eligibility criteria and to award the grant funds.

d.    award grants to providers who meet eligibility criteria.

e.    take such other necessary steps not covered by existing delegations to achieve the outcomes outlined in this report.

 

Note: As the need for this additional funding is immediate the report is submitted under the Special Urgency Procedure and is removed from the Call-in Process.

03/12/2021 - Supply of Workwear and Protective Clothing ref: 2936    Recommendations Approved

The contract with Arden Winch who currently supply workwear is due to expire on the 31st March 2022.  We are required to run a competitive procurement exercise to find a new supplier of workwear.  Based on the spend in Financial Year 2020-2021 of £1,066,519 we are required under the Public Contract Regulations 2015 to run a competitive tender process via the Find a Tender Service (FTS) procedure.

The report seeks agreement for the site the former caretaker property, The School House at Silverdale School, Bents Crescent, Sheffield S11 9QH, shown outlined in red on the plan attached to this report, to be declared surplus as it is no longer required for the education function for which it is held and is not required by the portfolio for the delivery of any other services.
