The only other two options those households sadly have is either, put the garden waste in the black general waste bin and send it to landfill or get in the car and take their garden waste to the household waste recycling centre. Sadly, for some households, this means putting the garden waste into plastic bags and taking it down to the household waste recycling centre.
Sadly after all that hard work, the householder has to go to the car wash and have their car hoovered out or get home and hoover the car out themselves, which sadly, on top of all that hard work means more electricity being wasted just because the garden waste service which is provided by Sheffield council & bin collections by Veolia, is sadly too expensive for most Sheffield households to afford.
I do have another option for the council to have a go at.
That option is that households pay for the garden waste service as they use it, this could be a whole lot cheaper for so many households to use, plus it could save so many households a trip to the household waste and recycling centre, not forgetting so much money on Sheffield householders petrol.
