To complete missed bin collection on a weekend

We the undersigned petition the council to - Do you ever forget to put your bin out on the correct bin day when it is supposed to be collected and have to book a missed collection? The annoying bit about this is you have to book your missed collection on-line or phone the control centre to report the missed collection. This is all well because this is all standard procedure or, how the system works. The problem is you have to go with the information that is on-line or what you are told on screen that your bin will be collected within two working days. Sometimes this will not be the case. Sadly, you may have to wait longer than two days, which means what is said about the missed collection sometimes may not be true.

There is a very good solution to this and that is to complete any, and all missed bin collections on a weekend. Why do I say this? It is because whatever bins were missed that week, at least they can be completed that same week before Monday comes round again. At least all the work is completed on the same week, not waiting for the following week which could mean people waiting more than two days for their missed bin collection to be completed. At least Monday morning can be a fresh start to the week and not have work from the previous week waiting to be completed. At a time like this when the bin strike is on, people sadly will have to wait more than two days for the bins to be completed, which is so unfair on the household that is trying to put up with a bin full of rubbish/recycling, waiting for it to be completed.
