Acceptance of National Productivity Investment Fund Grant for the A61 London Road / Broadfield Road Junction Improvement Project

This report is to approve acceptance of the Department for Transport’s (DfT) National Productivity Investment Fund (NPIF) capital grant for the years 2018/19 and 2019/20.

The grant in the sum of £3,356,000 will come from the Department for Transport to the Council.  The Council will provide match funding in the sum of £1,459,000.

The Council will also be the Accountable Body for the grant and will be responsible for the obligations and liabilities of the grant agreement between the DfT and the Council.

The report also is to give authority to commence a formal compulsory purchase order (CPO) process to run in parallel with negotiations by agreement with the landowners.  This will help control the acquisition timescales.
