Contract award of Schools Insurance programme from 31 March 2022.

To remove schools from the Councils portfolio of insurances and arrange separate cover under a bespoke Schools Insurance package provided by Zurich Municipal.

Reason for urgency:
Staff absence prevented the decision being added to the Forward Plan for publication within 30 days of the Decision.

The contract start date is 31 March 2022 when the existing arrangements expire and insurance cover needs to be in place by this date to maintain continued financial protection.

For Voluntary Aided and Foundation schools who are part of the arrangement it is a statutory requirement to have Employers Liability Insurance as the governing body is the employer at these schools.
