It is proposed that the council procure an external provider on behalf of South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, City of Doncaster Council, Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council and Sheffield City Council to work with to deliver electric vehicle charging infrastructure in South Yorkshire through a commercial agreement.
The proposal provides opportunity to support the development of a larger, more commercially sustainable network of public electric vehicle chargepoints in South Yorkshire and access government funding such as through the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Fund (LEVI).
