Upper Don Valley Flood Alleviation Scheme, Phase 2 Outline Business Case

Sheffield’s Upper Don Valley flood protection scheme has been developed to protect communities, major roads and development land in the Upper Don, Loxley and Little Don valleys from Stocksbridge through Oughtibridge and Hillsborough to the city centre.

Phase 1 of the project was completed in October 2023 and successfully protected many properties from the floods of Storm Babet.

We are now developing Phase 2 through Neepsend and Kelham, an area which aligns with the City Council’s proposals for “Housing Zone North” and includes the A61 arterial route.
