The matter was referred to the Overview and Scrutiny Management Committee on 17 March 2022 in advance of the decision by Co-operative Executive.

The contract start date is 31 March 2022 when the existing arrangements expire and insurance cover needs to be in place by this date to maintain continued financial protection. For Voluntary Aided and Foundation schools who are part of the arrangement it is a statutory requirement to have Employers Liability Insurance as the governing body is the employer at these schools.
